The following are my classes, their descriptions, links and resources for parents and students.



The Durfee High School Band program is open to any student who plays an appropriate band instrument. Band members must attend all after school rehearsals, concerts, and parades scheduled for the group. The band performs several concerts and parades throughout the year. All students will audition for placement within the band. This course may be repeated for credit.  Band 9/10, 11/12, and Honors are year long courses.

Introduction to Percussion and Drums

The Percussion class is open to all students novice to advance to discover and develop marching, concert percussion and drum set technique.  It is offered as a term class and will focus on individual and group performances and activities. 


Music Theory

Students explore how to write, analyze, and describe music through musical notation.  The class is designed to prepare students to continue a love of music as an undergraduate music major or a life long learner.


Piano Lab 

Piano Lab is intended for any student who is interested in developing musical keyboard skills. Students will learn to play the piano while developing an understanding of melody and harmony. Student performance for live audience is required. This course may be repeated for credit.
