Early Childhood Objectives:
Language, literacy, motor, perceptual and sensory skills are developed through meaningful activities based on the theory that children learn through experimentation and practice in predictable stages. Each child is an individual with varying developmental levels, therefore activities are designed to guide and encourage within each child's zone of proximal development.
The daily schedule encourages active involvement in meaningful activities that build on what children know, and balances structure and free choice, as well as, active and quiet times.
Activities are both child-centered and teacher-directed, and lessons "focus on the process rather than the product" fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride.
